The Apple iPad (6th generation, 2018) was a budget-friendly refurbished tablet discussed in Tech Market's 2025 buying guides. This archived page explains what made the model appealing and what a buyer must verify today. The original promotions have ended, and no previous discount or delivery offer is guaranteed.

What the iPad 6 offers

The iPad 6 has a 9.7-inch Retina display, A10 Fusion processor, Touch ID and a Lightning charging port. It was sold with either 32GB or 128GB storage, in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations. The Cellular model supports compatible 4G LTE service with an appropriate mobile plan, not 5G.

Storage, cosmetic grade, battery condition, network suitability and current availability vary by the specific refurbished unit. Check the product listing rather than assuming the same options are always available.

iPadOS 17 limitation: check apps before purchasing

Apple's iPadOS 18 compatibility list does not include the sixth-generation iPad. Its last major software generation is iPadOS 17. App publishers may require newer software, so verify the minimum iPadOS versions for essential banking, school, work, streaming and communication apps before ordering.

For ongoing everyday use, a newer supported iPad may be a better long-term choice. See Apple's iPadOS 18 compatibility information and our detailed iPad 6 setup guide.

Apple Pencil, keyboard and accessory support

The iPad 6 is compatible with Apple Pencil (1st generation), not Apple Pencil (2nd generation), Apple Pencil (USB-C) or Apple Pencil Pro. Confirm that a Pencil is included before assuming it comes with the tablet. Apple's compatibility guide identifies the supported models.

Certain suitable Bluetooth keyboards and third-party keyboard cases can work with the iPad 6, but Apple's magnetically attached Magic Keyboard cases for newer iPads are not compatible. Check that cases and screen protectors are intended for the 9.7-inch 2018 model.

What makes a refurbished iPad 6 a sensible deal?

Compare current prices: A historic 'up to 70% off' promotion is not proof that any current listing provides that saving. Compare like-for-like models, capacities and conditions.

Choose storage carefully: 32GB can feel restrictive after system files and downloaded apps; 128GB allows more room for documents, photos and offline video. The storage cannot be upgraded internally.

Check condition and battery: Cosmetic grades describe appearance and do not guarantee a new battery. Confirm activation status, charging, Touch ID and screen condition where possible.

Understand the warranty: Tech Market offers a published 12-month warranty subject to its conditions. Check the exact device and terms at purchase.

Delivery claims from the 2025 promotion

The old statement "free next-day delivery across the UK" was too broad. Tech Market lists Free Standard Delivery and Next Day Delivery as separate options where available. Check the delivery FAQ and delivery information for the current arrangements and checkout options.

Likewise, old descriptions of a fixed number of inspection checks or 'guaranteed quality' should not be taken as evidence that every device follows the same documented process. Evaluate the specific listing and written returns and warranty terms.
